Why Rebrand?
The decision to rebrand wasn’t made overnight. It came from listening — to our clients, our community, and our team. While the name Ezzi Signs Inc carried meaning and legacy, it often created confusion as we expanded into larger projects and partnerships, especially in a digitally connected world, we found ourselves constantly explaining who we were and what we were not.
The presence of another signage company with the same name, operating in a different state, began causing:
- Client confusion (especially online and in procurement systems)
- Misrouted inquiries and emails
- Brand dilution — something we had worked hard to avoid
Rather than continuing to compete for clarity, we decided to lean into the opportunity. We didn’t just want to change our name — we wanted to redefine our brand for who we are today and who we’re becoming.
We wanted a brand that was:
- Clear and easy to remember
- Bold, just like our signs
- Local, proudly rooted in Chicago
- Aligned with our modern, high-impact design philosophy
That’s when the name Zee Signs Chicago emerged. “Zee” is not only phonetically strong and clean — it’s also how many clients already referred to us casually. Adding “Chicago” grounds our identity in the city we love and serve.
